The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin works to Make Wisconsin a Better Place to Bicycle through Advocacy, Coordination and Education.
Coordination
The hub of Wisconsin cycling activities and interests
The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin strives for a unified voice to address diverse issues related to bicycling. We are leading the way in coordinating a network of interests, with the goal of Making Wisconsin a Better Place to Bicycle.
By becoming part of this organized network of bicycling interests and allies, we can increase our successes. BFW's coordination efforts are helping Wisconsin:
- Build new, and protect existing, mountain bike trails
- Increase the number of people cycling for health, financial or environmental benefits
- Educate motorists on cyclists' rights
- Plan communities and roads for all modes of transportation
- Increase safe routes for children
We partner with various stakeholders throughout the state including government officials, schools, health organizations, bicycle shops and industry representatives, and other advocacy organizations.
We are dedicated to coordinating the varied interests of individual cyclists throughout the state, including:
- Commuters
- Road cyclists
- Mountain bikers
- Touring cyclists
- Racers
- Recreational riders
- Urban riders
